Armenia Visa Information

For most of the nationalities Armenian visa can be obtained on arrival in the airport or at other border-control points if you arrive by land from Georgia or Iran. Armenian visas are issued for maximum of 120 days with possibility to extend for another 60 days if no other term is defined by international agreements of the Republic of Armenia.

Visitor Visa:
A Visitor visa is issued when a foreigner intends to enter the Republic of Armenia for the purposes of tourism, visiting relatives or other persons, business, transportation and other professional interest, medical treatment or other short-term stay. Visitor visa is issued for a single entry or for multiple entries with validity of one year.


VISA FREE
The citizens of the following countries (all types of passports) don’t need visa to enter Armenia: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Japan, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovak Republic, State of Katar, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Swiss Confederation, Vatican, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America and Uruguay.

Citizens of these countries can stay in Armenia for up to 180 days per year.

The citizens of the following countries do not visa to enter Armenia based on bilateral and multilateral agreements: Argentine, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Macao (Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China), Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

Citizens of these countries can stay in Armenia for no more than 180 days during one year if no other term is defined by the international agreements of the Republic of Armenia.

VISA UPON ARRIVAL

The citizens of the following countries can obtain Armenian visa upon arrival in Armenia: Albania, Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Australia, Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Kingdom of Bahrain, Barbados, Belize, Kingdom of Bhutan, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brunei,Canada, Cambodia, China, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, The Commonwealth of Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Salvador, Fiji, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Hong Kong (Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China), Indonesia, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kiribati, North Korea, South Korea, Kuwait, Laos, Lebanon, Macedonia, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Marshall Islands, Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Oman, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Serbia, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Republic of South Africa, Suriname, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste (East Timor), Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Venezuela, Yemen.

Note that the citizens of India with residence permit in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman can get Armenian entry upon arrival at the border.

VISA WITH INVITATION ONLY
The citizens as well as holders of travel documents of following 63 countries can apply for Visitor visa only at the diplomatic representations or consular posts abroad and with invitation only: Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros Islands, Congo, Congo DR, Cote d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Rwanda, Saint Helen’s Island, Sao Tome and Principe, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Swaziland, Syria, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Note that citizens of India and Iraq can apply for entry visa only at the diplomatic representations or consular posts of Armenia abroad, though without need of invitation.

VISA FEES:
Single entry Visitor visa for up to 21 days of stay – AMD 3,000
Single entry Visitor visa for up to 120 days of stay – AMD 15,000
Multiple entry Visitor visa for up to 60 days of stay (valid for 6 months)- AMD 20,000
Multiple entry Visitor visa for up to 120 days of stay (valid for 1 year) – AMD 40,000
Single entry Transit visa – AMD 10,000
Multiple entry Transit visa (valid for 1 year) – AMD 18000

Note that at the border-control points only 3-day Transit visas and 21/120 days Visitor visas are issued. And only local money (Armenian dram) is accepted. 1 USD = 477 AMD (as of August 10, 2017).

TRANSIT VISA
Transit visas are of single entry or multiple entries with validity of 1 year and with stay in Armenia for no more than 3 days. It is possible to extend the transit visa for maximum of 4 days.
